EXPERIENCE:
Douglas W. Truxillo is a partner and has practiced Admiralty and Maritime Law with Onebane Law Firm since 1977. His primary area of practice is civil litigation in state and Federal courts in maritime and oilfield jury and non-jury cases, including interpretation and coverage review of P&I, Hull, CGL and Employer’s Liability Insurance policy, as well as the negotiation of oilfield master service contracts, vessel charters, commercial shipbuilding, ship sales and mortgage transactions. He has handled cases in Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi and has been admitted on a pro hac vice basis in cases throughout the United States over the past 35 years.Mr. Truxillo has been the Co-Chair of annual Maritime Seminar at Cypremort Point for the Lafayette Parish Bar Association.He is a frequent speaker on the topic of oilfield and maritime contracts and litigation at seminars put on by Law Schools, Universities, Bar Associations, as well as trade and business organizations.He has also served as the legal advisor to the Association of Diving Contractors International, Inc. since 1991.

Mr. Truxillo served as a law clerk to the renowned maritime judge, Honorable Edwin F. Hunter, Jr., of the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana in Lake Charles.
