Lawrence L. Lewis III graduated from Louisiana State University in 1967 and earned a Bachelor’s of Arts. He went on to the Louisiana State University Law Center obtaining his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1970. He received an LL.M. in Taxation from Southern Methodist University. Larry is a Board Certified Tax Specialist, certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization and has been practicing Tax Law with the Onebane Law Firm and its predecessor for more than 40 years. He is a former Chair of the Section of Taxation of the Louisiana State Bar Association and a former Chair of the Specialization Board (Taxation) of the Louisiana State Bar Association. He is listed in the 2015 edition of Louisiana Super Lawyer in the area of Business/Corporate and has been listed annually since 2007. He has also given numerous presentations at professional and client seminars and meetings in the areas of taxation, estate planning and administration and business entities.
Larry is a shareholder in the firm’s Business and Commercial practice group and is the Section Head. He represents business clients in business entity formation and governance, business acquisitions and dispositions, business succession planning, business disputes, federal, state and local taxation and all matters pertaining to family and closely held businesses. He also represents individuals and families in all aspects of estate planning, probate, and estate administration, including wills, trusts, transfer tax planning, successions, and estate related disputes.
Larry and his wife, Sharon, have been married for more than 40 years and have one son, Jeffrey. In his leisure time, Larry enjoys golf, travel, LSU football and baseball, fishing and spending time with his family.
